The Akai MAX49 is a revolutionary keyboard controller that can connect over USB, MIDI and CV and map to software parameters via the AkaiConnect automatic-mapping software.
With 49 semi-weighted velocity-sensitive keys with aftertouch, 12 MPC pads and 8 LED touch faders, the Akai MAX49 offers full control over virtual and hardware instruments. The ingenious touch faders allow 32 controllers to be assigned via 4 banks, and unlike standard faders, can jump to a new value instantly by touching the ribbon in the appropriate location. The 12 backlit MPC pads are also assigned within 4 banks, offering a total of 48 assignable triggers for drums or clip launching. The familiar rubberised velocity-sensitive MPC pads with MPC swing and note repeat offer complete control over groove production.
Connectivity to other equipment is comprehensive, with USB MIDI, standard MIDI connections and CV & Gate outputs for control-voltage controlled instruments. DAW control is also catered for using Mackie Control and HUI modes, giving all the control you need from a single work surface.
In the middle of the MAX49 sits a prominent central transport control section giving immediate control over transport and track navigation, while the rubberised pitch and modulation wheels are smooth and responsive. The built-in arpeggiator with latch button allows for familiar automatic melodic control over any connected device, and the on-board step sequencer lets you control your grooves right from the keyboard.
Assigning this abundance of control on the Akai MAX49 to your DAW or instrument plugins has been made effortless with the included AkaiConnect software. This allows instant mapping of knobs, pads, buttons and faders by clicking on screen, then touching your chosen hardware controller.
