The Numa Nero is designed to make full use of the versatility, reliability and unmatched sound quality of modern software instruments and does offer typical digital keyboard functions such as built-in sounds and speakers. The design of the Numa Nero keyboard focuses on giving you the best and most natural-feel action for your performing and assumes your digital audio workstation (DAW) will take care of sound generation.
To make sure you are provided with the highest quality keyboard action in a MIDI controller, the Studiologic Numa Nero features impressive credentials including a TP400 key mechanism. There is graded hammer action on the 88 wooden keys, essential for piano players as it means the piano is heavier in the lower end and progressively lighter towards the higher end. The Numa Nero also features double-dipped, ‘full body’ solid black keys, highly unusual in most digital pianos and important for getting the best feel out of all the keys. There are also 20 dynamic curve settings which ‘sense’ playing in real-time and respond accordingly. The Nero also has a graphic display allowing you to customise velocity profiles for added MIDI expression. The YOU-PLAY system enables users to design and save over 20 personalised dynamic curve settings (in addition to factory pre-sets). An organ mode offers early triggering of the keys to allow for rapid organ playing without the need for fully engaging the hammer action.
A handy aluminium back piece slides out to support another keyboard, sound module or laptop without the need for another stand. There are two pedal inputs, plus an illuminated side wheel controller. The Numa Nero can be powered by either an AC adaptor or via USB.
