Review:
Pros inexpensive, solidly built controller with pads that light up. Cons pretty much everything else. The instructions are useless, and the Icon website is no better, so you're on your own. It has four modes. For dj mode, a Traktor software template is supplied, but nothing else, so I couldn't test it. Daw mode I got working reasonably well with Reaper, but it's a matter of press and twiddle to see what does what, as there are no instructions. Effector mode took some working out, the pads are divided into two rows of up/down controllers, so you can control 24 midi CCs. You can also control the selected CC by turning the big knob. The last mode is a simple drum pad, transmitting midi note values and on/off messages. A software editor is supplied, but the ONLY thing you can change is the note values for the drum matrix! So this is much more limited than I expected. If your software has MidiLearn you will get more use out of it, and it's possible to remap the midi output externally using something like MidiOx, but out of the box it's not too capable.
