The Alesis DM10 X Electronic Drum Kit is a six piece, high-end electronic drum set for professionals and beginners alike. The DM10 X includes acoustic-feeling RealHead drum pads that are designed to give a natural response when played. The 10 electronic instruments featured in the DM10 X are a 12-inch snare, two 10-inch toms, two 12-inch toms, a 12-inch hi-hat, a 16-inch, three-zone ride cymbal and a two-inch crass cymbal.
The Alesis DM10 X features an advanced hardware interface module offering a premium instrument library consisting of 1,047 true drum, cymbal and percussion sounds built from uncompressed drum sounds sampled from real drum kits. You'll find some of the most in-demand acoustic drum sounds from legendary drum brands, a huge arsenal of top producers' go-to snare drums, real American, Canadian, Chinese, and Turkish cymbals, and a choice selection of classic drum machine and electronic percussion sounds that have fuelled the biggest hit records. You can play with or without reverb for different room sounds and enjoy a wide variety of rimshots, rim clicks and different stick-placement sounds on the cymbals. For example, a hi-hat’s sound depends on a number of factors: how open or closed the pedal is, how hard it is struck, and other variables resulting in 40 different sounds.
Such detailed response is down to Alesis’s Dynamic Articulation that is used on its pad and cymbals - each sound is actually a series of different samples that are triggered if you play loudly or softly. The drum or cymbal changes its timbre, not just volume. The Realhead dual-zone pads feature mylar drumheads and real triple-flanged counterhoops for a real acoustic feel.
All the Alesis hardware is fixed to a sturdy black aluminium stealth rack including a fully adjustable snare stand. It is possible to expand your DM10 X by adding extra drum pads, cymbals and other hardware. There are 12 trigger inputs located in the rear of the interface and the DM10 X is compatible with most drum hardware. The DM10 X interface includes an AUX input allowing you to play along to music from your MP3 player or computer. A mixer located on the front panel of the interface allows you to balance drums, cymbals and accompaniment levels to suit your preferences.
