Americana EZX from Toontrack was recorded at the Congress House Studio in Austin Texas USA. Toontrack have teamed up with in-house producer Mark Hallman to create pure sounding Americana drums for all to use. Using the medium-sized live room in the Congress House captures that small venue atmosphere in which Americana music is heard and played in. The results were sonic, articulate recordings, with resonance and hardly any washback.
Close miking techniques were used to collect much details as possible form each part of the kits. Only the best microphones were used during the sessions; Audix, Sennheiser, Oktava, Shure and Audio Technica. 3 drum kits were created using Fibes Maple and 1960s Ludwig kits, also drum kit parts from Remo, Zildjian, Tama, UFIP and Factory Metal Percussion (FMP). Several velocity layers were recorded for user control of each drum part.
