Toontrack Superior Drummer 2.0, ”The New York Studio Legacy Series”, is a professional sample engine for creating lifelike drum tracks on your computer.
Toontrack Superior Drummer 2.0 is a complete overhaul of the original dfh Superior engine with the same sound quality, attention to detail and musicality that has made the original Toontrack Music drum sampler line what it is.
Superior Drummer 2.0 has been re-developed for optimized use with e-drums with more effective use of sample layers and much improved loading times. It includes custom MIDI played by legendary session drummer Nir Z accessed through the all new customized MIDI engine and arranger EZplayer pro, also features stand alone capacity through Toontrack solo.
Superior Drummer 2.0 has been fitted with, 5-band EQ, high and low pass filter, compressor, gate and transient designer filters. The interface is reminiscent of EZdrummer with its simple handling and lay out but gives its user layer upon layer of in depth features to create the ultimate drum track.
Toontrack Superior Drummer 2.0 “The New York Studio Legacy Series” was recorded by Pat Thrall, Neil Dorfsman and Nir Z at Hit Factory, Avatar Studios and Allaire studios, NY. Pat Thrall, Neil Dorfsman and Nir Z have between them over the past three decades worked with artists as diverse as Meatloaf, Celine Dion, Nick Lachey, Sting, Bruce Springsteen, Dire Straits, Beyoncé, Björk, Kiss, Joss Stone, Genesis, John Mayer and Chris Cornell.

The New York Studio Legacy Series Vol.2 SDX Expansion Pack contains unique sample recordings from two legendary New York Studios - Hit Factory NY and Allaire Studios.
The New York Studio Legacy Series Vol.2 altogether feature kits recorded with seven kick drums, thirteen snares and a wide variety of cymbals sampled in extreme detail to work with the best, most advanced drum sampler engine on the planet, Superior Drummer® 2.0.
The drums for ”The New York Studio Legacy Series Vol.2”, were played and produced by Nir Z, Neil Dorfsman, Pat Thrall and Mattias Eklund at Hit Factory, NY and Allaire Studios NY.
”The New York Studio Legacy Series Vol.2” features a custom MIDI library played and recorded by Nir Z. The MIDI for ”The New York Studio Legacy Series Vol.2”, was recorded and played by Nir Z. Apart from the close miced faders in the mixer, N.Y. - Allaire also has these channels: AmbFar, AmbMid, AmbNear, AmbMono, Oh-Mono, AmbBullet, SnareRim and a SansAmp channel.
Apart from the close miced faders in the mixer, N.Y. - Hit Factory also has these channels: AmbFar, AmbFar-FX, AmbMid, AmbMid-FX, Sony-In & 57-Out.
Sadly, for the music and recording industry both studios are now closed. Thus the subtitle ”The Lost New York Studios”. The Toontrack The Metal Foundry Sound Expansion For Superior Drummer 2.0 was recorded and produced at Atlantis Studios in December 2008 by the original Drumkit From Hell recording team, Mattias Eklund (Toontrack® Music), Fredrik Thordendal (Meshuggah), Daniel Bergstrand (Dug Out Studios) and Tomas Haake (Meshuggah).
Toontrack The Metal Foundry Sound Expansion features seven massive drum kits, spanning 300,000 sound files of raw, single hit drum recordings in the vein of Drumkit From Hell and dfh Superior, covering Hard Rock to Metal, from the early Blues tinged sound of the late 60s to the fragmentation of today’s music, from Power through Thrash, Death and Progressive Metal.
