The Jazz Bass is a long-standing model from Fender, first introduced in 1960 at the same time as the Jazzmaster electric. Offering a bright sound in the midrange and treble frequencies, the Jazz bass has long been the choice of players looking for a more punchy, forceful bass tone.

With its narrow neck originally designed to suit jazz players, the Jazz Bass, or J-Bass, has since been adopted by players of all styles and genres. Its two pickups, in the bridge and middle positions, provide a bright but solid tone making it a favourite model among bands whose bassists need to cut through the mix when necessary.

Many well known players use Fender Jazz Basses, with signature models having been designed for the likes of Geddy Lee, Jaco Pastorius, Noel Redding and Mark Hoppus among others.
