RC-3 Loop Station Guitar Effects Pedal description:

The Boss RC-3 Loop Station pedal packs huge amounts of looping and overdubbing time along with an innovative feature set into the familiar compact size of a sturdy metal BOSS stomp box.

This one-track stereo looper is perfect for the player who simply needs to drop loops in and out over the course of a live performance, a three-hour storage memory providing more than enough room, which can be split between as many as 99 separate save spaces.

A simple and fast selection knob allows you to quickly cycle through and find the loop you want, over which you can happily overdub from the second you stomp on the pedal.

For the more ambitious players who need even more space, a USB connection allows you to save the loops to computer and even import/export WAV files, which opens up the whole new possibility of overdubbing looped samples. For the guitarist or instrumentalist who wants even the most incidental looping parts to be handled securely and professionally, the BOSS RC-3 is absolutely perfect for the job.

Boss RC-3 Loop Station features include:

  • Compact and powerful stereo stompbox looper
  • Massive internal memory with up to three hours of stereo recording time
  • 99 onboard memories for storing loops
  • USB 2.0 port allows you to connect to a PC and import/export WAV audio
  • Rhythm guide with real drums
  • Runs on a single 9-volt battery or optional AC power supply

Pros: +
Funny i am not a fan of loopers, I much prefer to hear a clever musician. But this is great for practice and playing on top of chord progressions. Really helps with tunes and timing. Well built and small.

Review:
This is a real clever piece of kit. I'm a bass player and the loops sound fantastic, with no appreciable loss of quality, at least at practice levels. The rhythm section is useful for jamming along in 3 or 4 time. You can tap tempo easily and set the rhythm volume independently. I'm going to import my own patterns from PC next. You can save them to 90 odd locations.

I was surprised at how easy it was to loop accurately, having come to grief on other pedals. The switch has just the right feel. The auto start feature also workd brilliantly.

Ibought this primarily as a practice tool but I can already see it'll be a creative tool too. It's great fun. Boss has done a very good job.
