E-Bow MK II Electronic Bow for Guitar description:

The E-Bow MK II is a hand-held electronic bow for guitar.

The small 9V battery-powered E Bow unit replaces the pick in the right hand letting the guitarist mimic strings, horns, and woodwinds with unbelievable sensitivity. The EBow produces a powerful infinite sustain, rich in harmonics for incredible guitar sounds.

The EBow lets you play as fast as your left hand can scurry through a lick. Fade a string in from a motionless state for a reverse-tape effect. Run the EBow across the strings for gorgeous arpeggios. Add distortion for a screaming guitar sound. Playing the EBow directly over the pickup will increase your volume many fold and give you the crisp sound of super hot pickups. Moving away from the pickup gives you the mellow sound of a hollow body electric.

The sounds you discover by experimenting with the EBow will amaze you. And like the best tools of the trade, the EBow will sound different for each musician.

Review:
I really enjoy playing with the EBow, it's simple to use and very effective.

The fact that you can't play chords doesn't detract from it's
expressiveness as there are quite a few ways to play it and
I definitely like it. I took one star off because I felt it was a bit pricey for what it is, but I definitely don't regret purchasing it.

Pros: +
Works as advertised, whale sounds all over the show

Cons: -
No competition so is able to be very highly priced for me for what it is, not as sensitive as ad made out, no chances of arpeggios

Review:
I've wanted one of these for *decades*. Delighted to discover that it's every bit as much fun to use as I thought it would be. The physical sensation when the magnetic field engages with the guitar strings and bites is a real whoa! moment.

Pros
Infinite sustain, dude!
The plus setting excites different harmonics in the string to the original setting, producing a more aggressive, modern sound that I actually found I prefer.

Cons
Make sure you don't have your amp turned up too high when you try this out. The eBow plays *much* louder than you do.

Review:
Not had chance to really get to grips with this yet but it's pretty easy to use (although there are some advanced techniques that can be used which I still need to master). A surprising range of sounds depending on amp/guitar/fx/tone settings and a great way of adding some textures and keyboard-like ambience to a guitar. You need to know your one-string scales to add melody to the basic drone and then a whole new pallette opens up. Designed for guitar but will work on bass and, IMHO, is more expressive than a synth fx pedal.

It's not an essential part of a guitarist's armoury - but a useful addition to the tool box. You probably wouldn't want to use it in every song - but for some numbers, it's fantastic.

Very pleased with mine

Review:
The EBow is a very useful tool, especially if you are into creating guitar-drone style music. I give it 4 out of 5 as using it is not an 'exact science'. It can be difficult to use in a smooth fashion, by which I mean that is a little clumsy when first starting out. With a bit of practice it soon becomes easier to get the sounds you want, but to utilise the EBow to its full capacity I would suggest using it on a guitar that is chained through various effects pedals to truly get a unique and more useable result.

Review:
A bit disappointed although how much of it is due to e bow itself or my own ineptitude is debatable.
Had read one or two reviews saying its a tricky device to use, but decide to buy one anyway in order to play With or Without You. However, I fear this may have been unwise as thus far either nothing happens or it squeals completely out of control. Nevertheless I will persevere in the hopes I can master the technique. Could be a while before we include U2 in our set though.

The best addition to any guitar. Hours of time lost in the butiful world of sound with this little device. Easy to use desine with a helpful led to see what your doing. I especially liked the harmonics switch
You won't be disappointed if you like playing the guitar or maybe some other string instrument? Hum chelow I wonder

Review:
It's isn't labelled as such but this is the Ebow Plus. Which means it has two settings. One for the Bowie Heroes sound and one that sounds like feedback. That one is super fun! This is the cheapest price I could find online so - no brainier.

When I ordered this I was unaware that it was the newer version the Ebow plus as the price was far cheaper than other stores, in addition the tutorial material allows for fast learning.
