The Ibanez RG guitar is very well known as a lightning-fast double-cutaway that benefits from a speedy neck and high-gain humbuckers, as well as tremolo systems for scoops and dives.
It has therefore found the majority of its allies in the hard rock, metal and virtuoso worlds, and subsequently is available in all manner of suitably brooding, dark and sleek finish options, in some cases including garish neon colours and complex designs.
That's not to suggest that it's all about style, as there's a great deal of substance too. These guitars are ideal for the shredder who wants to be able to glide through scale patterns and arpeggios with ease, and who needs confidence in the power and sustain of the pickups under the strings. In that respect the Ibanez RG is absolutely second to none. Contoured with particularly pointy cutaway horns, they cut a fine shape on stage, too.
