The Epiphone LES PAUL SPECIAL 2 6-String Electric Guitar, Maple Body, Mahogany Neck, Ebony Finish. Solid, heavy tone from a highly affordable, supremely functional guitar.
The Epiphone LES PAUL SPECIAL 2 has two humbucker pickups, a rosewood fretboard with a bolt-on Mahogany neck and great alder/ mahogany body wood giving this model the powerful, sustaining tone character of the best Les Pauls. The Les Paul Special II guitar is hot enough to let your leads sing and the rhythm pickup has that smooth, fat LP tone. Chrome hardware.

Suprisingly good once it's been set up properly. The factory set up was a joke; the intonation was all over the place. The guitar was also delivered with corroded strings, which doesn't give a good impression out of the box. However, with a new set of strings and a bit of time spent on bridge adjustments, this plays really nicely. The neck is great with no protruding frets and a nice slim feel. Pickups are high-output and sound decent pushing an amp into overdrive. The clean tones are less impressive, particularly from the neck pickup which is rather dark and undefined, but the bridge is quite nice.Considering the price of this thing, any serious complaints would be churlish and to be honest I'm very impressed that you can get such a nicely playing guitar so cheaply these days.
Nice inexpensive guitar, and most importantly sounds great. Heavier than expected, but the weight adds body and substance to playing experience. Construction and finish is fine. Possibly one of the best guitars for under £150, and sounds far better than it should.
