ES-335 Dot Figured, Vintage Sunburst description:

The Gibson ES-335 Dot, Vintage Sunburst is a 6-String electric guitar from Gibson's Custom series.

The Gibson ES-335 Dot, Vintage Sunburst takes its influence from the original 1958 model, offering warm and mellow tones ideal for jazz and blues. The ES-335 Dot has a Maple and Poplar laminate wood body with a single, dolid maple block. It also has a one-piece mahogany neck, topped with a 22-fret, rosewood fingerboard.

Equipped with a pair of '57 Classic Humbucker pickups, the ES-335 Dot offers a great variety of tones, to accompany the guitar's 1960s tapered neck profile to provide supreme, fast and comfortable playability.

The Gibson ES-335 Dot is completed by nickel hardware and grover tuners, along with a classic ABR-1 bridge and dot inlays. Also included is a black Gibson hard case to protect this beautiful guitar.

The 335 is the original all the others try to copy.Even the lack of case candy from Gibson didn't take away my grin on opening the case.Elation however faded. The DV247 paperwork cheekily had the playability box ticked. The action, was 1/2 at the 12th fret (37/64 on the low E to be precise).Gibson specs 12th fret - 5/64 low E - 3/64 high E.There was also string ping from a badly cut nut.The electrics however worked fine.Usually I set up my own guitars but this needed a full professional set up.Gibson should do better on a guitar with a RRP £2399.As for DV247 allowing this to be marked ok for playability and dispatched please have a word with the drummer that checked it.I should also point out the neck's nitro finish is a little sticky but that will disappear in time. Will Gibson Memphis's quality control improve? Will DV247's drummer be educated as to what guitar playability means?Only time will tell.I could have bought this locally ensuring a perfect set up but Pricewise DV247 couldn't be beat, excellent communication, delivery was quick and tracked. The 335's a fabulous instrument now it's been set up correctly and I'm delighted with it and DV247 for saving me £600.
