The Variax has built-in tone-shaping electronics, accesible from an intuitive Contol panel. Controls include BODY, VOL, VERB, COMP, MIC, PROG and TUNE. The controls allow you to get exactly the tone you require and store the settings for recall at another time. A close mic'd sound, high volume, with room verb and heavy compression for example.
