This versatile single-channel combo offers several features that make it perfectly suited for any guitar amp application, whether it be home recording or live use.
The Recording Output circuit provides a microphonesimulated
XLR connection for patching to PA or recording gear. Since this 100% passive (no clipping) circuit taps directly from the speaker output, the resulting sound gives a simulation of a microphone strategically placed in front of whatever speaker you are using.
It also features the exclusive "Power Sponge" feature, which is a continuous power level control, between the output and speaker, which provides a constant load impedance to the output, with respect to the setting of the control and the impedance of the speaker.
The result is a transparent output attenuator that is variable from full power to none at all. Furthermore, the Power Sponge setting does not affect the level or the Recording Output. In addition, a variety of common large power tubes may be used without the need for re-biasing.
