The PRS DGT Tobacco Sunburst electric guitar is the culmination of more than 20 years of friendship between Paul Reed Smith and famed US session guitarist David Grissom.
David Grissom has played and toured with numerous American leading bands and recording artists like Buddy Guy, The Allman Brothers, Eric Johnson, The Dixie Chicks and Bob Dylan. His principle guitar, a modified PRS McCarty Trem was the inspiration for the PRS DGT (Dave Grissom Trem) signature model.
Based on the McCarty Trem model, the Paul Reed Smith DGT has special DGT pickups, special wiring allowing push/pull splitting of coils, a custom DGT neck profile which is smaller than PRS’ wide-fat neck, bigger frets and heavy gauge strings that permit beautiful rhythm and solo tone. This model features beautiful abalone "Moon" inlays in the fingerboard.
