The Hollowbody II from PRS is made to give sonic resonance and tonal clarity due to the Maple top and back and the Mahogany sides.
The 57/08 pickups are fitted for solid blues/rock rhythm playing. The Hollowbody II has a Pattern neck, which is an update from the PRS "Wide Fat" neck found on the instruments built for Carlos Santana, Peter Frampton and Howard Leese from the late 70’s to the mid 80’s.
The Hollowbody II has been treated with a "V12" finish. This finish has taken PRS
12 years to develop and is a mix between nitrocellulose and acrylic. The V12 finish is harder, thinner and
clearer which improves the look, sound and feel of the Hollowbody II 2011.
