The Adam S6A MK2 is a real milestone in the history of active main monitors. It combines numerous innovations with great flexibility in compensating for different room acoustics, but foremost it delivers a stunning overall realism in sound reproduction. The woofers and woofer-midrange units carry a HexaCone diaphragm, a honeycomb structure made of Nomex, coated with Kevlar on both sides, making them lighter and stiffer than possible with classical materials. All S6A MK2 drivers are mounted on a 25mm Aluminum honeycomb plate, that leads to a very close connection between cabinet and drive unit. As a result, much better impulse coupling that audibly improves the clarity and precision of the reproduction is achieved. The S6-A MKII has two A.R.T. Midrange units and the same A.R.T tweeter found in all Adam monitors, starting with the P11-A near field monitor and ending with the S7-A Main Monitors. You get the same superior resolution above 2 kHz from these monitors that sets all Adam loud speakers apart from their competitors and by applying moderate equalization to the low end nearly an additional octave in bass response is achieved compared with a passive system. The S6A MKII has a rich choice of controls that influence the characteristics of the built in ICE Power pwm amplifiers. Besides level controls and shelve filters you find three fully parametric EQs that enable you to compensate for standing waves phenomena in the control room. The balanced analog input is on a balanced XLR connector.
