GFM 132 Boundary Layer Microphone description:

Neumann's experience and history of manufacturing quality microphones is apparent in the Neumann GFM132, a professional boundary microphone intended for capturing instruments, vocals and ambience. The GFM132 features a hemispherical polar pattern that provides a wide pick up area and eliminates surface noise. Typical applications are for live recordings, such as in the orchestra pit of opera houses, theaters, and on stage. The back of the microphone has non-slip pads for its use in a horizontal or inclined position, and holes for wall suspension. It is supplied with a wooden case and a wind screen.

The triangular design is computer simulated and optimized to eliminate the filter effects commonly associated with boundary and surface mounted microphones. The result is a uniform frequency response at all angles with a boost in the upper frequencies for enhanced signal presence. A 10dB Pad switch enhances headroom and avoids distortion and noise caused by excessively loud signals. The GFM132 requires +48V phantom power and is ideal for capturing stage performances, lectures, conferences, broadcast and professional recording applications.
