QTC1 Omnidirectional Condenser Microphone description:
The Earthworks QTC1 is an Omnidirectional condenser microphone which provides flat, extended frequency response, superb impulse response, very high sensitivity and that great Earthworks sound with very low self noise.
It is an extraordinarily accurate microphone, typically within +-dB from 20Hz to 20kHz. More importantly, the impulse of the Earthworks QTC1 is extremely clean. The impulse information imbedded within the tones of music is the detail needed to capture the experience of being there. Clean impulse response allows the QTC1 to transduce wave forms exactly, so the QTC1 will provide a true and accurate representation of sonic events as they happened in the air creating the experience of being there.
The Earthworks QTC1 is a wonderful microphone for ambient miking and and is also superb for close miking any acoustical source. It will capture the full size and natural texture of many difficult and complex sources. The QTC1 is perfect for musical instruments like percussion, piano, guitar, bass, strings, vocals, brass, woodwinds, and location recording of classical, jazz, ethnic, folk and pop music. It is also useful for Foley, adr, sound effects, sampling and even the subsonic mating calls of elephants.
For all applications where natural, uncoloured sound is the desired result, the Earthworks QTC1 is your best choice. If you prefer transparent to discoloured this is the microphone of your dreams.
