All of these sounds are accessible with just one knob and the 5-way pickup selector. Variax can change instantly from a classic single-coil solid-body electric to a richly detailed acoustic 12-string at the flick of a switch. String vibrations are detected by a hexaphonic bridge pickup and are converted directly into digital signals that are processed through the stored instrument models, applying unique tonal characteristics. The signal is then converted back to analog, so Variax can be plugged directly into any electric guitar amplifier.
The Variax 600 guitar has a great body to match the brain. A single piece maple neck and fingerboard has a classic-feel and traditional "skunk stripe", while the comfort-contoured basswood body looks great and feels comfortable. The 9 1/2 inch fingerboard radius and 25-1/2 inch scale length and Custom L.R. Baggs tremolo bridge have excellent playability.
