The Studio Precision 8 monitors deliver a sound that's much wider, much deeper, much more defined, and packed with much more low-end punch than mere mortal direct field monitors. Simply put, they far exceed people's sonic expectations - and by a huge margin. Low frequency response in the Studio Precision 8 can be felt as well as heard, its 8 inch low frequency driver utilizes a neodymium magnet and gives the driver exceptionally low distortion characteristics. It also makes it far stronger, despite its lower weight, and gives it a greater level of output efficiency than a traditional woofer. Dual large-diameter linear-flow bass ports allows for exceptional low frequency coupling into the room, resulting in low distortion, and superior low frequency transient response. The ports are front-mounted, allowing the speakers to be placed near walls without restricting the ports' air- flow. Studio Precision monitors will reproduce percussive and bass instruments without introducing new overtones or artificially - hyped frequencies. Put another way: You get true, accurate, powerful low end from the ASP8 monitors. The EVENT ASP 8 (Pair) has a clever 1 inch soft dome high frequency radiator design, helping prevent the ear fatigue associated with metal-domed tweeters. It moves by a neodymium magnet, and produces a broad, flat radiation pattern that doesn't require corrective equalization. The end result is a large sweet spot. The ASP8 fires a healthy 280 Watt output from its internal amplifiers, 280W biamplified split 200W low frequency and 80W high frequency. The Studio Precision 8 ASP monitors include continuously variable low and high frequency trim controls, a continuously variable input sensitivity control, and a switchable 80Hz high pass filter, which is useful for bass management in surround-sound applications. For easy connection, both balanced XLR and 1/4 inch jack inputs are featured on the SP8 rear panel.
