The Eric Amp Custom 40 description:
The Cornell-Custom 40 is loaded with one Tone Tubby speaker and has half the output of its bigger brother, the Custom 80.
The Cornell-Custom 40 is designed to cater for those who want Eric's sound, but prefer a smaller, more compact amplifier. Initially, what is now the Cornell-Custom amplifier was a custom-built order for Eric Clapton.
The Cornell-Custom 40's minimalist design, with only 3 controls (volume, bass and treble), provides a truly "plug and play" amplifier.
With very few components in the signal path to corrupt the tone, its simplicity is its strength; the natural tone and response can only be a result of that no-fuss design. At the heart of the Cornell-Custom 40 are two Tone Tubby speakers enhancing its response thus resulting in the perfect Blues sound.
If you are a Clapton fan, this amp can be seen and heard on several DVDs such as The Queen's Jubilee Concert, the Concert for George, and John Mayall's
60th Birthday concert.
