The Hiwatt DG503 Custom Gilmour Head is designed to the same specifications (with 50 watt output) as the amp head used extensively by Pink Floyds very own Dave Gilmour. He created his signature sound in the '70s using a stack of Hiwatt 100-watt heads with WEM 4x12 cabinets. The DG503 is a 50 watt model based on the Custom 50, but with special mods as originally commissioned by Dave Gilmour. A normal input, a brill input and also a special linked input where the gain of each channel can be dailled in to suit. Bass, Treble, Presence and Master volume controls. 2xEL34's, 4xECC83's. Original Partridge design transformers. Switchable 4, 8 or 16 ohm output impedance. 50W output. Inside the amplifier reveals point-to-point hand wiring, turret tag boards (no printed circuits), and hand laced wiring harnesses. The power and output transformers are manufactured by Partridge, the original 1970's supplier to the original design sheets. The components and wires are the modern available equivalents of the vintage components, 1-watt carbon resistors, and wound polyester capacitors being used throughout.
