With the import option for audio and midi files you can even use Independence Basic as a sampler workstation for your other sample libraries, loops and audio files.

You can use Independence Basic as a VST plug-in (Mac and PC), as AudioUnits plug-in (Mac) and as powerful standalone version (Mac and PC). Independence Basic comes with the same audio engine as Independence 2 and is of course fully compatible with Independence Free and Independence 2.
