The Akai MINIAK Micro Synth is a powerful performance and
production synthesizer. It was developed in
partnership with the world-renowned Alesis synthesis team and
brings together the control of the Akai Pro MPD, MPK and APC series
with new powerful sound generation technology. The MINIAK empowers
creative musicians with phrase and step sequencing, a built-in drum
machine, an arpeggiator, a 40-band vocoder and the Alesis virtual
analogue synth engine. This portable synth is a credible
alternative to Korg’s microKORG offering similar features.
The Akai MINIAK delivers a high-quality
synth sound and it had the ability to offer pretty much any type of
analogue sound you could ask for, from lush ‘Jupiter-esque’ sounds
to edgy Moog-like basses. Putting up to 8 multi-timbre voices (each
with 3 oscillators) at your fingertips, the MINIAK gives you the
opportunity to create thoroughly unique and interesting synth
sounds with more than 600 pre-set sounds to work with. The
synthesiser is incredibly versatile offering 2 multi-mode filters,
3 envelope generators and 2 low frequency oscillators offering no
limit to the sounds you can create. The MINIAK has a 37-key
semi-weighted digital keyboard with velocity sensitivity which
gives a more human feel to your playing. Additionally, a sequencer
with step and dynamic real-time phrasing and a drum machine aid you
in the creative process.
There are high-resolution, 24-bit balanced 1/4” inputs and
outputs and headphone jacks. A black colour scheme gives the MINIAK
a classy look. The Akai MINIAK is a great way of bringing fresh
synth sounds into your mix, and its creativity-inducing functions
make it extremely useful for musicians.
