The Clavia Nord Stage 2 76 is the shorter-scale, more portable, but as easily playable version of the Clavia Nord Stage 2 Stage Piano.
The Nord Stage 2 76 is a Hammer Action Weighted 76-key digital piano and features the same piano sampling technology as the Nord Piano, complete with Nord’s intelligent string resonance and dynamic pedal noise when used with the optional Nord Triple Pedal. There’s a 500MB Flash Memory exclusively for the piano sounds and settings, giving plenty of room for customised settings to be saved and instantly recalled.
As well as a piano section, the Stage 2 76 also includes synthesizer and organ sections in its sound banks, with the option of using two sounds from each section at the same time to increase the instrument’s flexibility.
The synth section of the Stage 2 76 is influenced by the Nord Wave, has a powerful arpeggiator and is capable of classic analogue, FM and Wavetable synthesis. It is compatible with the Nord Sample Library, which enables owners to access the vast array of free, authentic sounds on offer. The Nord Sample Editor for Mac and Windows allows user-created samples to be added to the Stage 2 76’s 380MB Synth Memory, providing endless possibilities to the instrument’s already impressive capabilities.
The Stage 2’s dedicated organ section uses Nord’s B3 organ model, as featured in the Nord C2 Organ, with advanced rotary speaker simulation. For added control, the Stage 2 76 offers 9 digitally controlled drawbars, which have replaced the original mechanical drawbars. There are also 3 tone wheel modes that allow the user to easily amend the Stage 2 76’s organ sounds.
Building on the effects section of Nord’s Piano, the Stage 2 76 has a plethora of Tremolo, Wah, Phaser, Chorus and Flanger effects among others, which are fully customisable to create some unique sounds.
The Stage 2 76’s Master Clock function enables effects to be sync’d to each other as well as the arpeggiator and LFO. There’s also delay settings and amp simulation to recreate the sounds of a Twin Reverb or a Wurlitzer speaker.
With MIDI In, Out and MIDI over USB functionality, and a portable, lightweight design, the Nord Stage 2 76 packs a great amount of features into its sleek, road-ready casing.
