MINITAUR Analog Bass Synthesizer description:

The Moog Minitaur Analog Bass Synth Module is a minimoog-style compact monophonic bass synthesizer based on the Taurus I and Taurus III synthesizers. The Moog Minitaur has a 100% analogue audio path and a one knob per function design for real-time tweakability including two Taurus VCOs with a choice of Saw Tooth or Square waves, two mixer VCAs, two minimoog style ADSR envelope and one VCF with ladder filter and VC Resonance and one VCA. In addition, the Minitaur possesses several new features such as an external audio input to expand on the sound design and synthesis possibilities.

At 8.5" x 5.25" and less than 3 lbs, the Minitaur marks the next chapter in the Taurus family history by offering new form factor, control interface and increased level of accessibility. Great build quality, the knobs and the buttons are firm and sturdy.
In use classic earthshaking Moog bass, deep and rich. Excellent filter.

I've found the Minitaur easy to use and thanks to the new firmware and software editor, is a really versatile synth, although it has been mad only for bass sounds.

Hintuse it with external audio source, such as loops, vst sounds etc etc..the filter will add some magic. Highly recommended!

The Minitaur may look small and even a little cute! (There I said it!) but this thing packs some punch! If you want earth shattering basses in your tracks then this synth will not disappoint. It's well built and fun to play about with. If personally like the fact that Moog have gone back to basics with this one as there nothing worse than having to riffle through all the hidden menus to get the sound you want, with this beast what you see is what you get excluding some nice hidden features in the software editor in the under the hood feature but this is optional but I advice you to install it, it's free when you register your Minitaur with Moog themselves. Happy bass making :-)
