The Akg C3000B is a large-diapragm cardioid condenser microphone designed for vocal and instrument recording in professional and project studios. The microphone features a 1 inch diameter, gold-sputtered mylar foil diaphragm, resulting in an exceptionally pleasing, smooth sound. The microphone features a switchable 10dB preattenuation pad that immediately follows the transducer in the signal path, thus increasing the C3000B's SPL capability by a true 10 dB to 150dB. Loud sound sources are therefore no problem, for example, when close micing of loud sources such as brass, drums and percussion instruments.
