Who is Andy Mac?
Andy Mac started his career in 1997 producing for the urban record label, Diesel Records, whom at that time were responsible for artists such as Craig David, Blackstreet, Beverly Knight and Destiny Child. After crafting his production skills, Andy set up his own remix outfit, 8-Jam Productions, which was Andy’s Remix banner for countless remixes and tracks including Destiny Child's ‘Independent Woman’ (No.1 Garage Mix). Andy’s experience is first hand production and mixing.
Andy has been using the Akai MPC series since the release of the MPC3000 in the 1990’s, his MPC knowledge is vast and his understanding of how to get the best from any Akai in the MPC family is top dollar! Andy comments:
“Working for Akai, I have an opportunity to share my passion for the MPC Series. The power behind the current range of MPCs is mind-blowing. The Akai MPC Masterclasses hosted by Digital Village are a chance for MPC users (and potential users) to see first hand how these machines can change the way you work. I am keen to demonstrate how you can improve your productions and reduce the need for endless hours of EQ’ing and Compression trying to fix a mix. With the MPC, you can get a groove sounding ‘right’, fast. Digital Village will also be offering some exclusive on-the-day Akai MPC deals so if you are considering an MPC for your studio, I would strongly recommend that you come along to any of these FREE sessions! ”
“I have seen and worked with many artists in many studios and I personally believe hardware will always play a key part in music production. We are in an age of powerful processors and endless amounts of new software but the MPC still uses the basics of creating a groove which is why 12 years after the original MPC, many in the industry are still continue to use the Akai MPC as their front end programming machine.”
At these FREE MPC Masterclasses, Andy will show you how to make different styles of music from Hiphop to Drum and Bass and demonstrate how the MPC can speed your work flow and give your production the edge you have been looking for. For Old Skool Akai users out there this is a one time chance to update your old equipment and see the advantages of USB, Flash and HD technology inside the new range and throw those old floppy and zip drives away!!!!!!
Andy will be at the following Digital Village stores this Autumn: DV Southampton, DV Cambridge, DV Clapham (S.London), DV Retail Warehouse (Romford) and DV North London in Barnet. The masterclasses last 1 hour and will start at 2pm and 4pm. Please contact the Store Manager at each location to reserve your place and register which session you would like to attend. If you e-mail the local store address with your registration request, the Manager will confirm by return. FREE beverages will be provided by Digital Village.
