Fender Johnny Marr Signature Jaguar News: Fender must be exceedingly pleased with itself today, having released the stunning Johnny Marr Signature Jaguar electric guitar.

With a custom spec designed for a man who is arguably the most iconic yet consistently-relevant guitarist in the UK, fans of his sound – featuring in contributions to anyone from The Smiths to Modest Mouse and The Cribs – will be in heaven playing the latest addition to the Jaguar signature range.
Nuts and Bolts of the Johnny Marr Jaguar
At its core, the USA-built Fender has been based on a 1963 Jaguar, modified with numerous custom appointments that nod towards Marr’s love of both vintage and modern ideals. Bare Knuckle’s Johnny Marr signature single-coil neck and bridge pickups provide serious punchy tone, cleverly manipulated by a switching system based around a four-position blade (bridge; bridge and neck parallel; neck; bridge and neck series) and two slide switches (universal bright; position four bright). The Fender Johnny Marr Jaguar is, therefore, a seriously adaptable axe.

Bolted to the alder body is a custom-shaped, lacquered maple neck – sporting Marr’s signature on the headstock and vintage-style Klusons – while the Jaguar bridge benefits from a ‘taller’ tremolo arm and an arm-sleeve to stop it from swinging free. A closer look (schematic drawing above) reveals that the bridge is also packing Mustang saddles in a brand new take on the Jaguar classic.
The Fender Johnny Marr Signature Jaguar is available in Olympic White and Metallic KO, and the first 350 of these are accompanied by a signed Johnny Marr Jaguar book too – the perfect addition for the serious fan out there! Here's what Johnny Marr has to say about his new Signature Jaguar -
