We've just taken delivery of the limited edition blue versions of VOX's AC15 and AC30 valve combos, complete with 1963 blue vinyl and classic Tygon fret cloth. As used on the 1963 AC30, the limited blue finish incorporates vintage styling with the modern two-channel Custom Series AC design.
These legendary amps have been the cornerstone of VOX's history since their introduction in the late 1950s. The AC30 combo played a pivotal role in shaping the sound of the 1960s British Invasion, thanks to its use by bands such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks and The Yardbirds. Since then, the VOX AC30 has been used heavily by blues guitarists, such as Rory Gallagher and Queen's Brian May, thanks to its unbeatable combination of beautiful clean tones and versatile overdrive.
More recently, the AC30 can be heard on every U2 album, while its use by The Cure's Robert Smith, Paul Weller, Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl and Kings of Leon's Caleb Followill among others proves that the AC30 is ideal for a vast range of musical styles.
