News IK Multimedia: The Italian Company IK Multimedia has announced and will be showcasing at NAMM 2012 the iRig PRE, a high-quality microphone preamp for the ubiquitous iOS platform for iPhone and iPad.
Building upon the ever growing popularity of the iOS format amongst musicians, IK Multimedia designed the iRig PRE to accept all your favourite microphones without the need for additional cables or adaptors. This clever little box even powers your condenser mic with +48V phantom power for up to 15 hours should you need it and lets you precisely adjust the gain with a simple gain thumbwheel.
When coupled with iOS recording software such as iRig Recorder, the iRig becomes a powerful solution for location or soundscape recordings and or record your ideas on the fly. The addition of 1/8” headphone socket is all the more welcome as it allows you to monitor while recording.
Like all IK Mulitmedia iRig units the iRig PRE is extremely portable but still offers the chance to capture a great sound wherever you are.
