Novation’s Automap Universal software, unique to their ReMOTE SL keyboards and controllers, ensures that little or no user setup is required. Sequencer controls are automatically mapped to the SL the moment Tracktion 3 boots up, whilst all VST or AU parameters are intuitively assigned as soon as a plug-in opens. In addition, an instant click and control ‘learn’ function is available for quick custom assigning, providing personalised plug-in control.
Automapping with Tracktion (version 3.0 onwards which is now available at an exclusive price from DV) allows any Novation SL to instantly control the Mixer and any plug-ins, even featuring vstxml support (previously only in Cubase and Nuendo Automap) for defined control of VSTs. The two halves of the SL work separately, with the right side controlling the Mixer and the left side controlling plug-ins. Plug-ins can be selected using the mouse (whereby parameters map to the SL straight away), or using buttons on the SL to select a track and then a plug-in. Vstxml support means that VST parameters can be laid out exactly the way you want, with the SL Template Editor providing a drag and drop facility for creating your own plug-in Automaps within Tracktion 3; the free Editor software scans your VST folder and brings all parameters up on screen doing all the hard work for you!
