The PRS Custom Series is the flagship product of the PRS Brand. The PRS Custom was the guitar first on sale at the 1985 trade show that launched what we now know as Paul Reed Smith Guitars.
The PRS Custom Guitars are produced in PRS’s Maryland USA Factory. They feature a variety of finishes, top quality craftsmanship and terrific tone. When People talk about PRS, they are normally referring to a PRS Custom 22 or 24, reflective of their stature within the company's reputation.

With 2011 bringing a new line-up for PRS, a few changes have been made. 2011 signals end of the original HFS (Hot, Fat & Screaming) pickups and their relationship with PRS Custom Guitars, as well as the Dragon II (from Santana fame) pickups now only being found on much more expensive models. PRS have now discontinued the Custom 22 Guitars, 22 frets being a luxury reserved for models at a higher price.
