Private Stock by Paul Reed Smith Guitars launched in 1996 with the goal of producing a collection of unique guitars using the world’s best tone woods, finishes and craftsmanship; to create the best sounding guitar that money can buy.
Private Stock by PRS began development as 12 guitars, one released every month in 1995, which Paul Reed Smith then called ‘Guitar of the Month’. The popularity of the Private Stock project allowed Paul to use vast array of exotic and unique tone woods (that he had collected over the years an held in the PRS Wood Library) to build these ‘one-off’ instruments which have contributed largely to PRS Guitars’ development and success as a company over the years.
Private Stock by Paul Reed Smith guitars are put through unprecedented quality checks throughout the build process. Every impeccable guitar is personally checked and signed off by Paul Reed Smith to ensure that every guitar meets his incredible standards, ensuring that every Private Stock guitar produced is a truly special and unique instrument.
