Line 6 Live Sound News: Stagesource L3t is Line 6’s astonishing new loudspeaker system from Line 6, which pairs up nicely with the already-announced StageScape mixing module. Debuting at NAMM 2012, it displays Line 6’s typical flair for design in a professional, powerful speaker format.
First of all, certainly expected due to the company’s reputation for modelling, there’s a button on the Stagesource for quick ‘smart speaker’ switching, which allows you to select between playback, floor monitor, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, keyboards and P.A. configurations for your sound production. It can even figure out how it’s been pole-mounted, and how to adjust accordingly. The switch between different modes also automatically adjusts itself depending on the inputs used, and which way up the speaker is.
The 1400 Watt Line 6 Stagesource speakers are three-way, and have been designed to be flown, mounted or used as a floor monitor thanks to an ergonomic cab, making it truly multi-functional. There are also multi-channel effects incorporated into the onboard mixer, and a host of inputs means that any source – instrument or hardware – can be quickly hooked up. Speaking of which, the Speakers do of course talk to Stagescape too, so as a system it’s a very, very easy job to get everything up and running and quickly configured.
Stagesource can tell which other speakers are in play, and it can detect subwoofers too, sharing the load as necessary. With sturdy build quality and built-in feedback suppression, it’s difficult to think of anything that Line 6 hasn’t covered. We suspect that this will be the talk of the show, and with very good reason indeed.
