The Gibson ES-335 is one of the all-time classic guitar designs and brought hollow body tradition and solidbody performance together in 1958.
While it appears to have a thinline hollow body, it actually incorporates a solid block of wood running through the centre; guitarists were often plagued by feedback when they tried to play hollow body guitars at high volume but thanks to its central body block, the 335 is much less prone to feedback.
The Gibson ES-335 Dot has a Curly Maple/Poplar/Maple laminate on the top, back, and rims, which are joined with the single solid maple center block, a mahogany neck and bound rosewood fingerboard. Two '57 Classic humbuckers translate the body's natural resonance into haunting jazz tones or searing distorted leads. The 1960s slim taper neck profile is very fast and comfortable while the bound top and back, plus Grover tuners, nickel hardware, and Pearloid Dot inlays make this guitar a joy to play. Today’s Gibson ES-335 Dot continues to provide the tone and the look that inspires musicians in blues, rock and jazz. Includes a Gibson hard shell case.
