Behringer iNUKE NU6000DSP Power Amplifier

iNUKE NU6000DSP Power Amplifier description:

The Behringer iNUKE NU6000DSP Power Amplifier takes a revolutionary approach to PA amplification by adding digital signal processing (DSP) into the mix. The NU6000DSP is everything you could ask from a power amplifier, giving you maximum power, in the form of 3000 watts per side; total control, via the 8-band parametric EQ, crossover and delay management system; complete safety, via a zero-attack limiter that helps to ensure nothing exceeds the limitations of your speakers; and absolute security, thanks to its lockable control panel to ensure nobody can play with your settings.

The DSP system gives simple software control of the essential settings you would find in professional speaker management systems such as the DBX Driverack PA+. The DSP system can be accessed from the LED panel on the front of the amplifier or by connecting the NU6000DP to a computer via USB and using the Remote Editor software package (which you can see in the gallery pictures). The simple software editor gives you precise control over the DSP system which includes speaker delay, crossover frequency, 8-band parametric EQ, dynamic EQ, and limiting. These settings can also be modified via the LED front panel for quick and easy configuration during a live performance.

Even without the quirky addition of digital signal processing, the iNUKE NU6000DSP delivers a powerful signal for an incredibly low price using a lightweight, ultra-efficient, Class-D design. All-in-all, the NU6000DSP packs the punch of a heavyweight, weighs in as a lightweight, and your purse doesn't take a battering! But, enough of the fighting talk, the specs can talk for themselves.

Behringer iNUKE NU6000DSP Power Amplifier FAQ:

What is a Class-D amplifier?

A Class-D amplifier employs a switching-mode power supply and is typically much smaller, lighter and efficient than traditional amplifier. Traditionally, linear power supplies made up a large proportion of the overall weight of an amplifier as the surplus power had be dissipated via heavy heat sinks! A Class -D amplifier stores additional power until it is required rather than converting it into heat making it potentially 100% efficient (as no power is wasted). In practise, a Class-D amplifier can be expected to be considerable lighter, consume far less power and not overheat – and these are the real benefits to the end-user.

What is DSP?

DSP (digital signal processing) is the name given to the process of converting analogue audio signals into digital information in order to run effect processes (such as reverb, EQ's, compression, etc). Digital processors run entirely from software encoding and require very little hardware. This method is far cheaper, more accurate, provides easy storage of settings, simple and powerful controls via graphical user interfaces and is far more compact – hence its popularity! The quality of this conversion is normally indicated by the frequency and bit depth of the digital encoding. 44.1Khz and 24Bit indicates a good enough sample rate to recreate frequencies between 20Hz-20KHz with plenty of signal-to-noise ratio to allow the digital processing to exceed 0dB comfortably.
