Less than one week before Christmas, I had been let down on a keyboard from a well-known internet supplier. This keyboard was a present for my daughter, whose birthday is a couple of days prior. Having been given good service from dv247.com in the past, I phoned your mail order hotline and explained my circumstances to one of your staff (Gareth, I believe his name was). He helpfully talked me through the specifications of a number of keyboards until we had found one that was suitable, and assured me that the keyboard would arrive in time.

Sure enough, it arrived exactly when I was told to expect it, and it was perfect for my daughter's needs. Given that this was not a particularly expensive item, I was impressed by the level of attention that Gareth gave me and felt that I should write to let you know how well he treated me. My daughter loves the keyboard, and I will continue shopping with dv247.com and DV Music, secure in the knowledge that I will receive excellent customer service.

I've played rock music from the late 50s, I have dreamed about Mesa Boogie guitar amplifier for over 30 years. I decided to fulfil my dream. I browsed for Mini Rectifiers over the net in Finland, and the entire European Union. I finally ended up on the dv247.com site. I had a phone call to a certain number since there seemed to be a Finnish dealer, too. In fact, he answered in London, not in Finland. No matter. He is DV Music's Finnish sales assistant Henrik.

It was some days before Christmas. It was quick and easy to deal with Henrik. He gave me a good piece of advice what to do to have no waste of time, because I was in flames now. I have dealt on internet as long as it has been possible, but this really was as if I was standing at a shop desk face to face with Henrik. During next minutes I dealt with my bank in Finland. Then, it was done. Henrik then let me know immediately the things were alright from the British point of view, too. He told me there is a Mesa Mini Rectifier head and speaker being packed for me.

Online I could see the parcel's trip and arrival in Jyväskylä. It was in the middle of Finland the day before yesterday. Now, the beauty is in the band's rehearsal place. The guys are jealous, I guess. They earn it. I'll keep on recommending DV Music to them, I'll recommend DV to anyone.

Shortly after that I had a very nice conversation with a very helpful gentleman regarding when another would become available. He was very polite and helpful but anticipated the order would not be in the warehouse until early January. Did I want to cancel the order? I assured him I did not as I had a son with a 21st birthday in January and that would be fine. My order arrived on 24th December, just in time for Christmas.

I was recently looking to purchase an electronic drum kit for my son. I have very little knowledge about the pros and cons of drum kits so I rang quite a few music stores to get help and advice. Most of them clearly only had interest in selling me what they wanted to sell, with a take it or leave it attitude. All except one, the DV Music store in Cambridge.

The manager, Duncan, could not have been more helpful as was Mike, one of the other sales people. They arranged for my son to visit the store and to try out a Yamaha drum kit which they had set up. They did not hurry him and answered any questions he had. From that I purchased the drum kit and a new boxed set was delivered within a few days. I wished there were more stores like this one, where people really take their time to help customers. Thank you again Duncan and Mike.

I would just like to say thanks for your efficient service regarding my order for a Yamaha MM6 and other accessories.

This is the first keyboard that I have owned, although a few years ago I used to own and play a Lowrey Organ (similar to a Hammond). I was unsure what to buy and I was looking at the Yamaha E423 and NP-V80 because I had heard that Yamaha make good sounding keyboards that are value for money. I phoned the Southampton store to discuss this and I spoke to Matt who was very helpful and explained that the MM6 might be a better keyboard because of the improved sounds and extra features, although more expensive.

I visited the store and Matt gave a good demonstration of the V80 and the MM6 then allowed me to try both of them myself. I was still unsure what to buy so I waited for a week then returned to the store and had an extended session on the MM6. This was the keyboard that I decided to buy.

So, I would like to thank Matt for taking the time to show me the keyboards and also for allowing me to practice / test for a couple of hours.

I also needed delivery on a Friday (due to work reasons), and this was efficiently handled and I have all of the equipment installed and running. The keyboard does sound great but now I have to learn how to use all of the features!

I've upgraded from a 5-string Washburn Taurus and I'm so glad I did! What a gorgeous bass! The flexibility in sound controls is superb and the Bartolini pick-ups sound awesome! It weighs nothing, looks stunning and is so much easier to play than my 5-string. A lot of bass for the money!

Just to let you know that the AKG microphone I ordered on Thursday 7th April through the Cambridge shop arrived safely the next day.

I was very pleased with the service - the price of the mic was brilliant as I'd seen it advertised elsewhere for much more - also free next day delivery is a bonus. I noticed that some companies were listing the mic in their catalogue/internet but were out of stock, which is a real waste of time.

I bought the AKG 214 to mic up my classical guitar live. I don't buy as much equipment as I used to, but if there's something I might need in the future I'll talk to Digital Village first.

I am just writing to express my sincere appreciation of the service delivered by your Birmingham branch, headed by the indomitable Paul Taylor.

I buy all the equipment for our college - Bury College in Manchester - and have been especially impressed by the good-natured dealings I have had with its efficient staff. I used to be a signed artist at several record labels and have been buying electrical equipment for around 20 years, so I know that sometimes what starts out as a good relationship as the money is handed over can become a tiresome one if equipment fails and has to be returned. In today's climate this has never been truer, as the overall quality control on some of the product lines falls in sync with their decreased manufacturing costs. This is not the fault of the resellers or the customer, but can be tedious in the extreme for both parties.

However, it is my pleasure to report that this process has been rendered almost painless by the staff at Birmingham (especially, but not only, Paul Taylor). Any problems are dealt with immediately and fair and reasonable settlements put in place. Equipment is picked up promptly and returned as soon as possible. In a busy college environment this makes my life SO much easier!

In addition, all quotes are delivered extremely fast, contain competitive prices, and specialist items have been sourced upon request even though the product line was not normally in stock. A request for a set of obscure multi-coloured CV cables is met with the same enthusiasm as one for thousands of pounds worth of synthesizers.

You should be proud of the Birmingham branch and the service it offers and, come the revolution (or, in our case, recession...) this lot should be LAST against the wall!

I recently fielded a call from a marketing type at a different retailer who were asking me why I had used them and then stopped, and whether there was anything they could do to tempt me away from Digital Village. I merely explained the scenario above and they had no comeback.

I can confirm that I will be using Digital Village for all future purchases, both personal and commercial, and have recommended you to all my contacts, friends and students.

Keep up the good work - it really does mean a lot to the customer!

I ordered a Yamaha Clarinet YCL250 on 13th December 2010 expecting next day delivery. On 14th I spoke to Ryan at Cambridge with regards to this item not arriving. Ryan was extremely professional and explained the issues regarding delays with DPD because of the weather. Initially I was concerned that Ryan was unable to contact the company but he was very efficient in taking my number and said he would call me back as soon as he could contact them. He contacted me as promised and was able to give me details of the tracking number etc. and confirmed that it had reached York, which I was then able to verify myself online.

I was delighted to receive the clarinet today in time for my daughter's first lesson on Monday. The clarinet looks fine; it will be tested on Monday. It was packaged well although exceptionally cold on arrival (but I believe it is heat that can damage clarinets?).

In addition, my initial discussions with regards to purchasing the clarinet with Ryan were again, handled in a friendly and professional manner. I would have no hesitation in recommending or using your company to purchase again. Please pass on my thanks to him.

I just wanted to say that I’ve only been to DV five times and it is the best music shop I have ever been to, I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

I would like to contact you to relay my thanks for such an exceptionally high level of customer service and satisfaction of any on-line store yet.

I recently ordered an M-Audio product only to find out it was out of stock. Your website told me to contact a store. I called the Barnet store and my call was immediately answered by Harry Garcia who patiently and pleasantly explained the stock situation to me. Upon doing so he offered to pre-order me a unit from the next delivery and gave me an expected delivery date...what more could I ask for!! I made the order there and then on the phone and that was that! No searching around other stores or anywhere else. My work was done.

A week or two later I received a call, to my surprise it was Harry who called me to update me on the order status and to let me know that I will be getting the order sooner than expected. I must admit that not only was DV the cheapest stockist, they were absolutely the most helpful. I have since recommended everyone I know to begin their search for audio equipment at your stores.

I dealt with Paul at Bristol on the phone; he was polite, knowledgeable, helpful and had all the relevant information to hand. His attitude and service provision was first class and he was an excellent ambassador for your company. The product arrived well packed and well within the expected delivery schedule so I am a very happy customer and would not hesitate to buy from you in the future.

There is one aspect which I would particularly like to commend. Other organisations that have both high street outlets and a busy web presence tend to separate the two. A telephone call made to inquire about a product seen on the website will be met with a response like 'that's the website and has nothing to do with us here in the shop' etc. I am very pleased to say that Paul displayed none of this attitude, was able to identify the product I had seen on the web immediately and offered to sort out the order there and then on the phone. The level of service at DV is better than I have experienced anywhere else. Simon at Romford is an absolute credit to the store. He listens to what the customer says and makes suggestions based on the customer's needs - not on anything else - a pleasant change from the usual high pressure sales techniques so prevalent today.

I would also like to add that the delivery notification system is the best I have come across. It saves all the stress of waiting for equipment being delivered by telling you when your delivery will arrive - within an hour , NOT "sometime today" as with so many delivery services.

I live in France but buy most of my instruments/drums etc from the UK. In the past 7 years I’ve had some parcels go missing, some parcels delayed and other items just not as described.

Just over a week ago I placed an order for a Roland KC 880 and I was very, very surprised with both the helpful, English speaking salesman and the professional service I received from both him and your shipping department. The enormously heavy box arrived on Tuesday. The courier had to be ‘talked into the village’ because I live in a small hamlet - that’s the norm here so I have no problem with that. The box probably arrived quicker than I could have collected it if I’d been in England!

I ordered it on Thursday 26th August then despite a Bank Holiday, air freight and van delivery – I was rehearsing with the amplifier on the following Tuesday afternoon.

I wish I’d used your company for other items – I certainly will from now. Many thanks for the excellent service. Highly Recommended.

Last year I went into the DV store in West London looking to buy a synth. The manager got the one I wanted out of the box, set it up, and let me play it, answering all my questions and offering good insight into the product against its competitors. I was very impressed with the way it didn't feel like he was forcing a sale on me - rather, he wanted me to get the best synth for my needs. I didn't buy the synth, but because of that customer service, I no longer shop around for prices - I always buy from Digital Village. Hi there, I just thought I would leave feedback about a guitar I just bought and the excellent service you provided. I bought a Gibson Les Paul Custom 1958 VOS in Washed Cherry and I’m very happy with the guitar.

It was very well packaged and I received it by next day delivery, on a Saturday as well!!

From my first email enquiry I was treated to first class customer service. I was a bit wary about spending a lot of money on a guitar I had not seen in person, but was emailed a good selection of pictures of the exact guitar I would be getting and all emails were answered very quickly.

I first enquired about an iced tea finish but it was not in stock, so I bought the washed cherry 1958 after seeing the hi-res photos I was sent. Together with a very competitive price and the excellent and professional service I was given, I was happy to buy the guitar.

From my first email to paying for the guitar, I was dealt with by the same sales person (I hate it when you have to repeat yourself to each person you talk to, so that was a nice touch, well done!). Special thanks to Roy at Romford for the quick response to my emails and for processing my order so quickly. I am a very happy customer and would not hesitate to buy from you again for either small or large items.

Digital Village/dv247.com is one of the most competitive sites/businesses I have experienced - the site has an extremely comprehensive and wide-ranging selection of products and is easy to navigate, read and understand. It is also well advertised on the web, possibly too well, as I tend to avoid sponsored links as they often tend towards the higher priced bracket, which is certainly not the case. The only flaw, if the site has one, is that the product descriptions often lack the mention of one major beneficial selling point of a product, which is certainly addressed by your most excellent, polite and knowledgeable in-shop staff. The style of the site isn't possibly the snazziest or most designer-ish, but frankly I like that as it means that it is faster than some and easier to read. It is certainly one of the best priced stores this side of the Atlantic, especially when adding in the free delivery over £200, and truly way outbids any other online or local store for the product I was buying. My keyboard arrived in perfect working order within 48 hours of order; a purchase that has made me one happy bunny and that I have wanted for quite some time now, and at a price that I can justify for my budget. I spoke to three of your staff on the phone all of whom were really polite and helpful, despite the fact that I'm not very good on the phone and sometimes lack technical terminology. Each took their time to answer awkward questions, and also were kind enough to do quite a bit of double checking for me. Digital Village, dv247 is certainly a store that I would be happy to recommend and buy from again - it's been a pleasure.

I'm very glad I finally ended up ordering items from DV247, as everything went brilliantly! My parcel arrived earlier than expected and items were well packed. The only problem I encountered was that there was a wrong item among the others in the original package, but DV247 arranged someone from DPD to pick it up, and sent me the right item even quicker! At first I thought "great, now I'll have to wait for them to receive the wrong item and then I'll have to wait for 1,5 weeks for the right one...", but the correct item was shipped as Expresspak via DPD and it was in my hands in no time, even a day before the DPD guy came to grab the wrong item. I should also mention that the wrong item was something that I had chosen for my original order, but I called DV to change it to another one later, so I think it probably was just an honest mistake and it didn't cause me any problems, especially considering how well DV247 handled the situation. Very good, will order from DV247 again!

I would not usually do this, but I feel that the customer service that I have been shown has exceeded my expectations so much, that I feel I should let your company know. A few years ago I used to purchase much of my equipment from a different supplier. This was simply because of the costs. However, their customer service was pretty poor, so I emailed your company about a price match. Paul Taylor from the Birmingham store quickly got back to me, gave me a price match, and the item was sent out and delivered within a day or two. Since then, if your campany has had the product in stock, I have only dealt with you. I always used to order my purchases online. Now I only ring Paul and he deals with any price matching and ordering as soon as I request. Even more recently, I requested the PSI number of an order, so that I could claim an additional item from the manufacturer that the item was made by. I left this right until the last day, (my own fault), but one quick email in the morning, and within an hour of you opening, I was sent the details that I required so that I could take advantage of the offer before the day (offer time) was up. I have made several orders with Paul over the last few years, and cannot say how thankful I am. Extremely quick and efficient. He will always help straight away, whether either on the phone or by email. I hope that he gets rewarded for his efforts, because I have never come accross a person as helpful and efficient as Paul as far as customer service is concerned, (especially in the Pro Audio World!).

I've been a Digital Village customer for about two years now, and haven't had much trouble. I tend to use the Birmingham store mostly, and usually visit it if I need to pick up a product or receive one-to-one advice or actually see a product.

Last week I was kindly assisted by a few members of your Birmingham team to decide on purchasing a piece of software. However the stock was to be sent from the Cambridge store (as only they had stock) for arrival by this Monday (yesterday). However the Cambridge store had delayed the dispatch until Monday, hence I had half a day wasted as I came to work from home to receive the package. My father had been kind enough to be at the house in the morning should it have arrived then.

However, as above, the item was not going to be received as scheduled.

I called the Birmingham store and a helpful member named Paul explained that the product had only been dispatched Monday, apologised for the error, and made a very genuine effort to make sure I received the parcel today, even though I was unable to be home.

I have now received the parcel and received a phone call from Paul to check I have received it.

Yes there was a large failure, but the effort to make sure I was helped and taken care of was even greater. This is what great customer service is about. When a retailer makes a mistake, they make a greater effort to satisfy the customer.

What was also pleasant to notice was that some retailers will try to satisfy the customer by ‘slagging off’ or rebuking another store or department within the same company to make themselves look better. Paul did not do this. He mentioned that the stock person from the Cambridge store was extremely reliable and may have had a genuine issue locating the product. I oversee a customer service operation as a small part of my role at my work place, and this is a healthy approach to running a multi-store business. I think this is very honourable.

I hope to purchase from DV in future again, especially because I know Paul and the Birmingham team will be dedicated to making sure I am happy. They took a failure and turned it into an opportunity to keep a customer rather than lose one.

Please pass my compliments on to the entire Birmingham team for the honesty and unbiased nature of their advice, and in this occasion, especially Paul for dedicating his efforts to ensure I received my product and did not go without for too long.

As usual Richard of the Southampton Branch gave me first class service when I ordered Cakewalk Sonar 8 Producer upgrade to my originally purchased Sonar 6 Producer. It was Richard who advised me back in 2006 to purchase the product plus Kinetic 2. At the same time he sold me the Rode NT1A microphone and M-Audio FireWire 410.

Always so pleasant and informative. Never loses his enthusiasm for the work he does for Digital Village. Pleasure to do business with the company, in many ways because of the personal service I have received from him when asking for advice on products.

The first time we met him was when my wife and I visited Southampton by train on a VERY COLD and WINDY day down there, can't recall exactly but sometime around 2000 to 2001. After much searching we found the little shop and I believe it was Cubase we bought at the time but I moved to Sonar in 2006 not having done much work with Cubase as it planned out.

It was in 2003 that we retired and moved to Grimsby to live, but as you can see we still keep in touch.

My son bought a Synergy system at Xmas and recently upgraded to Cubase 5 - all your staff in the shop have been a pleasure to deal with but two in particular have spent a lot of time (and patience!) with us... that's Richard and Steve. They are a great credit to your business, are knowledgeable, kind and demonstrate the best facets of customer care - because you feel as if they genuinely do care, for the client, for DV and for getting things done right and done the right way. They also all have a great sense of humour which always helps in a busy environment where attention to detail is really important.

I encouraged my son not to buy on-line but to go somewhere where he would get help and guidance - your guys do this in spades and we would never go anywhere else now for any hardware or software.

Just thought that credit where it's due... customer care is a rare commodity these days and it shows why a bricks and mortar business is still really important (coming from me as Business Development Manager for a Web Design/Development e-commerce agency that is praise indeed!)

The first time I used Digital Village was to buy a Synergy production PC in mid January; which can I add, are so well built and do everything you could want a computer to do (except make a cup of tea). Ever since then I cant stop driving up to the shop every Saturday and buying anything from hardware synths to cables. What I like is the fact that you can go into the shop and there's enough staff to accomodate the amount of people in the shop. You're not kept standing there waiting for a shop assistant to become available and you're immediately asked if you would like any help or assistance. Also the knowledge and understanding these guys have about music is second to none, I'm sure they could supply info to the most inteligent of producers. Plus the shop staff don't look at you with a puzzled look on their face when you ask about something simple like wether the hardware synths have assignable low pass oscilator cutoffs. For this reason and many others I give Digital Village a 10 / 10 and can't say a bad word about them. Great prices, brilliant customer services and great product range. Full marks to DV247 (Rachel in customer services) for sorting out a problem as soon as it arose.

I ordered a Roland synthesiser for my son's birthday and we were both disappointed when it didn't arrive on the day promised.

However, on phoning DV247 and making a disgruntled complaint they not only speeded up the delivery but also sent a keyboard stand too to make up for the disappointment of missing the birthday, which was great.

What impressed me most was the realisation that DV247 go out of their way to give a good service to customers.

Their phone operators are accessible and polite and willing to put things right. That kind of service makes all the difference.

Just a quick e-mail to say thanks for the goods listed below. I live in the Orkney Isles (at the very tip of Scotland) and it can take forever for goods to be delivered. The gear arrived yesterday, 6 days from the order being placed, which is excellent especially as it was also over the weekend.

The cost of postage and packaging is also usually extremely excessive when getting gear delivered up here, so free P&P is a definite positive. The equipment arrived well wrapped and in perfect condition.

On top of that, the price was fantastic!!!!

I buy a lot of musical equipment (I'm terrible for changing guitars) and I will not be looking elsewhere in the future - Straight to DV247.

Right, I rung up about 003 Digidesign factory and instantly got through to a competent brilliant member of staff that quickly answers all the questions I fire at him plus gives great advice and suggests extra options etc. The next day I ring again, buy the item with a recommended external hard drive and the guy saves me a couple of £100 on the external hard drive and gets it shipped instantly. Next day I receive my stuff that I got chucked in and 3 days later, (it was a Thursday I ordered) so on the Monday I got the 003. I recently demo'd various keyboards at your Southampton branch. I was very impressed by the customer service, especially the support from Andy. His expertise and help was invaluable in helping me choose which keyboard to choose.

I got in touch with your manager in Bristol, Paul Wyatt, to ask him his advice on buying a PA, as after 38 years I was thinking of going out on the road again doing the pubs and clubs, and selling my CDs.

The last PA I used was the old H.H. gear, you needed a forklift to get it about. Paul advised me to buy Mackie gear, I did and it is great. Paul was very helpful, and if I ever need any more gear I shall go straight to Paul.

I recently placed an order for a Mackie mixing desk and FireWire module, headphones, pair of active monitors, and similar equipment.

DV247 quickly responded to all my questions prior to purchasing and offered helpful advice, and I was also pointed towards MV Education for school orders, which I did not know about as I’d not personally used DV247 before.

All the equipment arrived quickly, it was very well packaged and there appears to be no problems. I’m still in the process of setting everything up, but so far everything seems to work fine.

I've been dealing with them for over 20 years, long before they moved to Mill Road & changed their name from Music Village. I have no complaints. I'm living in Ireland now but recently bought a new setup & they were most helpful over the phone as regards what was best for me and at a good price. They have tolerated me well whenever I have been a pain in the butt & I thank them for that.
