Whether you’re looking for your first pair of studio monitors or are a seasoned pro, DV247 have a huge range of active monitors to suit any budget. While the majority of of monitor speakers designed for the typical project studio are two-way devices with a bass driver of between 5 and 8 inches in diameter teamed with a tweeter around one inch in diameter, we also hold stock of three way monitors and larger systems to provide professional studio monitoring if required.
Why choose active monitors?
Active monitors have separate amplifiers for the bass and treble drivers where an electronic crossover
divides the input signal into high frequencies and low frequencies so that each driver handles only the range of frequencies for which it is designed. Electronic protection is usually built in to prevent the drivers from being overloaded and active monitors also tend to have a better-controlled low end as the low frequency driver is coupled directly to the output of its amplifier rather than via a network of resistors, coils and capacitors.
