AS-144 8 Channel Bi-Directional Converter description:

The Aphex AS-144 Bidirectional Converter - ADAT to AES / AES to ADAT interfaces between the Aphex Anaconda digital snake system and other devices.

The Aphex AS-144 was designed to do its job without any extra unnecessary bells or whistles. Since the I/O of the Anaconda is ADAT, there is an ADAT connection in each model. The ADAT eight channel format has been a standard in the audio industry for years.

There are three green LED’s on the Model 144. When power is applied the “Power” LED is lit. When a valid ADAT signal is present (either at 44.1kHz or at 48kHz) the “ADAT LOCKED” LED is lit. When there is AES input (there must be the connection to AES Channel 1,2 at either 44.1 or 48kHz) the “AES LOCKED” LED is lit. If there are any red LED’s illuminated it indicates a problem somewhere in the system. The ADAT to AES circuit is completely independent from the AES to ADAT circuit.
