The AUDIENT ZEN16MF Analogue Mixing/Recording Console is a thoroughly modern, yet classic analogue mixing console combining DAW I/O integration with the sonically pure signal path you would expect from Audient.
The AUDIENT ZEN16 MF is designed for today’s studio environments. The Zen 16 features 2 inputs per channel, DAW record output on each channel, L/R mix bus, 2 stereo buses, 2 mono buses, 4 auxiliaries and 2 cue sends, plus a stereo compressor.
Separate inputs provide the mic, line and the DAW return paths, offering a flexible system for connecting to a DAW or stand alone recorder. With individual DAW record outputs, mono and stereo buses, auxes, a sophisticated monitor section and an optional digital output interface, Zen allows simple audio connection to the rest of the production set-up.
The high resolution signal path is based on the design of the now classic ASP8024. We’ve drawn on David Dearden’s wealth of experience and the evolution of his designs going back to the 1970s, combining the benefits of traditional discrete circuitry with the latest advances in audio design technology.
Audient’s newly developed moving fader automation integrates effortlessly with your DAW software providing precise, fully featured automation of moving faders, mutes and transport control - taking advantage of the computer’s power for recording and processing while enjoying the sonic benefits and superior workflow of the analogue domain.
Zen's Master section offers comprehensive monitoring of five sources plus the main stereo mix through either the main speakers, two alternative speakers or headphones - there's even a mini jack to plug in an iPod™.
With master control of buses, auxes, solo, talkback and the two cue mixes, Zen also features various solo functions including solo-in-place and AFL/PFL modes. Audient's legendary bus compressor allows dynamic control of the main stereo mix, with the added ability to access the compressor externally via the rear panel connections. Parallel compression can be applied using the Wet/Dry control to combine uncompressed signal with the compressed mix and two stage compression can be achieved by inserting an external compressor into one of the stereo bus or mix paths. A digital output option offers AES and SPDIF outputs with up to 192kHz/24 bit conversion.
