Review:
The transformers within this device appear to be extremely high quality. I, personally, cannot perceive any loss of audio quality when this device is in line. With the incorporation of USB on most new devices such as synths and effects units, I find that this is where the ground loop is made thus I use this device on the audio outputs of such devices and it eliminates the digital noise on the ground very effectively. There is an added bonus that the transformers are centre-tapped and thus can convert between balanced and unbalanced and vice-versa. A very useful tool for both studio and live use.

Review:
Good sound quality, so isolation transformers are of high quality. Good for different uses where mains (earth) loops cause problems. This is particularly the case when using a computer output to a stereo or PA system, with mains powered macintosh's being particularly poor in this regard. Also useful for hum found when using mains powered effects devices (such as the MXR400) in an effects loop from guitar amplifiers (which I found with a Marshall head and MXR400). The HD400 completely eliminates these problems while maintaining sonic quality. Recommended.
