The Chiswick Reach Stereo Valve Compressor is an impressive mastering compressor comparable with the Focusrite Blue 230, GML 9800, Neve 33609 and the Masalec MLA-2 and costs a whole lot less! Unlike the many optically controlled compressors, this device features "variable mu" gain control as used in the time honoured Fairchilds. Two all transformer coupled, all valve signal paths operating in true class A mode which can be linked in stereo. Each channel is fitted with input and output attenuators, attack, release and threshold control. A unique "thump" position added to the attack control to give creative drum and percussion effects.
