The Moog MF-101 Lowpass Filter pedal is an award-winning effect designed by Bob Moog.
The Moog MF-101 pedal contains the legendary Moog filter as well as an envelope follower for dynamic-controlled filter sweeps. Used with Bass, Guitar, Keys, Samples, or recorded tracks, the MF-101 is ready to be tweaked for classic Moog filter effects.
The award-winning MF-101 Lowpass Filter is a direct descendant of the original Moog modular synthesizers. It contains two complete modular functions: a voltage-controlled lowpass filter and an envelope follower. It can be used with any instrument-level to line level-signal.

Pedal seems very solidly built. Control pots have nice positive action and it looks nice. The sounds you can get out of this box are many and varied. Most demos on the internet focus on the wacky zappy and wah wah sounds that can be wrought from the unit. However the potential to get some subtle effects using filtering and peaking for sweetening and colouring as well as shaping problematic fuzz/distortion tones makes this more useful than your average single function effect box. CV patching is a nice touch which sets this apart from alternatives, allowing dynamics to control resonance, mix, etc. and doubling cutoff sensitivity using just a mono cable. At high level with harmonically complex programme, it induces intermodulation tones the envelope follower, producing a warbling sound. This can be avoided with proper setting and can indeed be used as an effect in itself. Lack of true bypass may be an issue for some, as is the fact that the effect of the drive control is not switchable. However, the reason for this design is understandable as it makes switching smooth and click free and means that the dry and effected signals are appropriate levels for mixing together.
Very good build quality, typical moog product. Sounds very good and in combination with other mooger foogers can make some very fantastic strange sounds.
Moog products are expensive ,if the pedal is worth the expense time will tell.
