Sound Devices 722 Portable High-Resolution Audio Recorder

722 Portable High-Resolution Audio Recorder description:

The high-resolution Sound Devices 722 audio recorder advances the boundaries for compact, high performance, full-featured audio recorders. It is the essential replacement for digital and analog tape-based portable recorders replacing them with a far more powerful file-based digital recording devices. The two-track 722 writes and plays audio files with bit depths of 24 or 16 bit, with sample rates from 44.1 to 192 kHz, including pull-up sample rates.

The Sound Devices 722 user interface places the operator first. Users with a fundamental background in audio can begin recording with them immediately. The learning curve is short, powerful, and accessible. With documentary and ENG mixing engineers in mind, the recorders are as small as practicable without compromising their usability. While the 722 is a very capable recorder alone, it excels when used in conjunction with a Sound Devices 442 or 302 mixer.

The Sound Devices 722 implements a no-compromise audio path with Sound Devices' next generation microphone preamplifiers. Designed specifically for high-bandwidth, high bit-rate digital medium, these preamps set a new standard for linearity, distortion performance, and low-noise gain.

The 7-Series recorders write to two recording media, hard drive and Compact Flash. These industry-standard volumes are easily sourced and user replaced. The 7-Series writes standard .wav, .bwf, and .mp3 audio files. Its on-board battery is a standard Sony-compatible L- or M-type Lithium Ion cell. The Sound Devices 722 easily interconnects with many Windows and Mac OS computers for audio data transfer and backup.
