The SPL TRANSIENT DESIGNER 4 is a highly effective processor with simple controls that can instantly reshape percussive sounds to an almost unbelievable degree, regardless of the signal dynamics. This is made possible by SPL's Differential Envelope Technology making it possible to control the Impact and resonance duration of any percussive sound using only two controls per channel. The applications of this process are numerous, and not limited to drums. Often highly compressed keyboard and sample sounds can recover their natural dynamic characteristics by using the Transient Designer to emphasise their Attack. High-quality sounds and grooves can be elicited even from low budget drum machines while existing drum loops can be modified to make them sound quite different to the original. Additionally, effect sounds from sample libraries can be provided with genuine punch and energy. Ideal for all mixing engineers and sound designers who are not satisfied with the range of processing available from traditional dynamics processing.
