The slim-line DR-07mkII recorder features two adjustable condenser microphones that can be positioned to either capture tight imaging or wider ambient sound. The Tascam is particularly good at recording live bands and audio for films. Tascam have over 30 years of experience designing recording devices and the DR-07mkII reflects such expertise. There are separate analogue and digital circuit boards which are developed to reduce noise. The Tascam utilises a microSD card to record audio in either MP3 or WAV file formats at 96 kHz/24-bit resolution and a handy USB port means you can transfer your files to your Mac or PC quickly. There is also the option with the Tascam to plug in your own microphones and power supply if you need and a handy Level Align function prevents you from recording at an uneven volume.
Navigation around the various functions of the Tascam DR-07mkII is easy and there is no cluttered interface. A Peak Reduction function sets the optimum recording level to ensure your recordings come out the way you want. You can change the playback speed and loop your recording if you are using the device to record music to practice, and with Auto Record you can record without touching the device.
