TransX - this is the name of the 2 channel microphone preamplifier from ART, which not only convinces with a discrete low noise circuit but also with the overall processing and the sound. Starting from the front, the Trans X provides one section per channel, equipped with various controls and knobs as well as LED metering. This includes an impedance control, which works in the range of 150-1kOhm, a low cut filter, adjustable between 10 and 200Hz, of course a gain control with a maximum gain of +58dB, as well as a +/-10dB trim control. Also on board is the -20dB mic pad button, the switchable +48V phantom power and a phase button. With the exception of instruments plugged in via the jack, all inputs and outputs are located on the rear panel. For each channel, the TransX Pre Amp offers one XLR In and two balanced Outs (XLR and jack), while the Output Ground Float can be adjusted via the switch. So this discreet miracle tool has everything you would expect from a preamp. The already impressive overall picture is rounded off by a sturdy steel case in 19" format. And since the device only needs one height unit, there is still a lot of space left in the rack for other hardware.
