The Audified MixChecker Pro (Licence Code) is a very useful tool for simulating different listening situations. The plug-in is designed to give the mixing engineer a quick comparison between reference monitors and consumer devices. A variety of simulations (MP3 player, radio, TV etc.), an optional frequency adjustment of the used monitoring system and the bypass mode are available. This allows you to quickly listen to and compare your own projects on virtual smartphones, tablets, vehicle speakers, etc., in order to generate a better mixing ratio, which leaves the best impression on all devices.
The Pro version has also been improved and updated in many places:
New Simulations: All characteristics have been assessed, so the processing engine is completely different - with lower latency and better phase linearity. No simplified impulse responses under the hood.
Create Sets of Simulations: Drag the selected simulations onto the MixChecker buttons in any order. Save your selection to multiple button sets along with the stereo base width and volume for each button.
User-Defined Settings & Labels for Buttons: The MixChecker buttons have several adjustable parameters. You can even assign a simulated device to multiple buttons, each with different settings. To distinguish them, each button can have its own label attached to it.
Distortion: Audified are experts in accurately modelling distortion and saturation, either from loudspeakers or from amplifiers, preamps and other circuits. They have used this experience and integrated the modelling of these distortions into MixChecker Pro.
Background Noise: MixChecker offers the possibility to add an audio background with adjustable volume. The combination with simulated devices is very demanding: if you choose to simulate phones, the path of the noise through the headphones and ears is simulated, so that you hear the realistic combination of the mix playing from headphones and the noise coming from outside through headphones.
Auto Advance: You no longer have to scroll through simulations manually. The adjustable Auto Advance function does it for you.
Advanced Stereo Mode: Apart from the simple mono mode, the MixChecker offers a channel change where each channel is heard separately in both monitors. In addition, each simulation has an adjustable width of stereo base.
Web Browser, iOS & Android Remote Control: MixChecker Pro comes with web browser, mobile phone or tablet control. The remote control is currently in beta and the iOS version will be available in a few days after release.
Audified have Removed the Compensation Keys: In some cases they helped the simulation process, but for many speakers this had a negative effect on the accuracy of the simulation. See the full explanation in the manual.
